BG1 Another view of "West End Sidings" as various speedlink
wagons are shunted in preparation for attachment to the next
passing service. These etched brass wagons are enlarged from
the N gauge John Grey range of kits.
BG/2 Ex-works 47635 in Highland Rail livery slows down to
stop at one of Broad Green's five platforms with a rake of etched
brass Mk II carriages.
BG/3 White metal BEC kit 47086 Colossus departs from the
station with a rake of repainted Triang MkI carriages. Note the
working "feathers" on the signal. The terraced houses and shops
on the back wall is created by low-reliefing a Brian Sherrif scenic
sheet.
BG/4 A selection of the many types of diesel prototype that
can be modelled in TT is shown in this view of the inner circuit
servicing shed. 31268 is a modified plastic Tri-ang A1A, the two
class 20's, 20215 and 047 are 3mm Society Etched Brass and
White metal kits, and 47326 is a white metal BEC kit.
BG/5 56068, converted from a BEC class 47 white metal kit,
draws a long rake of coal hoppers through a loading pad scratch
built by Adrian Sweet. It is based on the disposal point at
Bennerley. In the foreground are the carriage sidings.
BG/6 A view of "West End Sidings" as a modified Tri-ang AIA
passes with a train of engineers wagons. Each stone hopper has
136 parts! Committee members of the Plymouth and District
MRC in the 1970's may recognise their names on the buildings in
the industrial estate.
BG/7 The swans seem unperturbed as 47526 rumbles across
their valley on a girder bridge with a rake of etched brass Mk II
air-conditioned carriages whilst a car carrying train comes off the
freight branch.
BG/8 An aerial view of the station building with its roof car
park as BEC 47086 Colossus prepares to depart with a train of
repainted Tri-ang MkI's. The DMU in the adjacent platform is
scratch built using Society castings and Tri-ang suburban
coaches, and is powered by a re-wheeled Lima N gauge 0-4-0
chassis.
BG/9 BEC class 47142 in Railfreight "red stripe" livery trundles
underneath the station building with a long freightliner. The
wagons are from the former BerlinerBahn range now produced
by Tillig.
BG/10 Etched brass 50017 on Tri-ang A-1-A bogies waits in the
carriage sidings at the head of a parcels train. The newspaper
van just visible is a Triang carriage with new etched brass sides.
BG/11 56004 accelerates its train of steel billets out of the
fiddle yard into the open countryside. The wagons are a mixture
of Tri-ang and John Grey bogie bolsters with painted brass loads.
BG/12 33012, a resin kit by the author, comes off the freight
branch with a long rake of car-transporters. These wagons came
from an unknown Dutch source.
BG/13 On the four track section, resin bodied 37294 heads
away from the station with a long train of steel billets whilst
47635, a white metal BEC kit, slows down to stop with a train of
etched brass Mk II carriages.
BG/14 A busy time for freight as 56004 rumbles through the
station with a train of steel billets. A long freightliner is looped in
the platform awaiting the passage of a passenger train.
BG15 A scenic view of resin bodied 33012 as it heads a car
carrying train off the freight branch towards the main line whilst
class 47, 47086 - Colossus passes on the main line with a rake
of Comet/Worsley Works etched brass mkII air-conditioned
carriages.
